Marie Jose Decarie was born in 1953 in Montreal, Canada. She started photography at 16 when her father gave her her first camera.
“In the Manitou serie, a joint project between myself and Michel Marchand,a multidisciplinary artist, I propose visions both timeless and surreal and enter a world of air and water. I begin with air-air on to water-air and finally, water-water. Presently, I am experimenting with images from camera obscura or pinhole and large format photography.” Marie Jose Decarie
